This is a digital adaptation, so the digital experience is very close to the original board game one. The main differences are visual, with UI and assets being adapted to the digital platform. Also note that the digital adaptation is based on the second eidtion of the board game. This means that several additional pieces of content are available in the digital edition that would not be found in the original board game.
Also note that in online multiplayer there is an ELO ranking system to ensure players are able to find other players of equivelant skill levels.

There is also a series of tutorial missions that will introduce you to the basic play cycle of the game and ensure you have all the rules in hand to to play against others.
